Venture capital investment in the blockchain industry surpassed $1 billion in April

In 2023, the investment attractiveness of blockchain companies gradually improved.

The volume of funding for Web3 projects was about $637 million. In 2024, venture capital began to enter projects using decentralized technologies more actively.

According to RootData, in April, venture capital funding in this area amounted to $1.02 billion. In March, venture capital investments in the industry reached $1.09 billion.

For the first time since October-November 2022, industry funding totaled more than $1 billion for two consecutive months.

Among the largest deals, analysts highlight the partnership between BlackRock and Securitize, an asset tokenization company. As part of this deal, the latter raised $47 million.

The most popular areas for venture capital investors remain infrastructure development projects, DeFi and CeFi markets, as well as blockchain gaming, NFT, DAO and information resources.
