France is on the list of states developing digital currencies.

In 2021, the Central Bank of the Fifth Republic opted for etherium. The regulator plans to deploy a token on this blockchain. It will be used as a means of settlement.

The deputy head of the Central Bank of France, Danny Boe, believes that national digital currencies (CBDC) will become an integral part of the financial system. Tokens linked to monetary units will be used as a means for cross-border capital movement.

France is in favor of international cooperation in the control of digital currencies.

And Danny Boe did not rule out that CBDCs can be both retail and corporate. That is, it will be possible to use digital currencies to pay for goods and services, as well as for mutual settlements between companies.

The deputy head of the Central Bank referred to the Mariana project, the participants of which are France, Singapore and Switzerland.

It pursues research objectives, the central banks of the above-mentioned countries will develop a platform for processing transactions with CBDC and prepare a legal framework for regulating such transactions.
