Binance asks the UK to be gentler

The largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance expressed hope that the UK authorities will choose a more liberal course towards the blockchain industry.

If the U.S. prefers to tighten policy in this area, London should become more flexible in this matter, said Patrick Hillmann, head of Binance’s strategic development division. He commented on the U.S. government’s push for strict crypto regulation with this statement.

Earlier in the day, a well-known financier Tim Draper criticized the White House. According to him, if the U.S. continues to use repressive methods, blockchain companies will be forced to migrate to other and more comfortable jurisdictions.

Hillmann emphasized that Washington has chosen a strange position. On the one hand, the authorities promise to create a comfortable environment for startups and crypto-investors, and on the other hand, they introduce strict rules for companies representing the blockchain industry. Binance is ready to work within the framework of the legislation, but if it takes repressive forms, the exchange will be forced to leave the U.S. market, the top manager said.
