Tether announced the placement of USDT stablecoins on the TON network

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino spoke at the Token 2049 conference in Dubai late last week and announced his company’s intention to use the Telegram Open Network (TON) to host USDT stablecoins.

The capitalization of this fiat-backed digital currency exceeds $100 billion. USDT accounts for more than 70% of transactions on the crypto market involving stablecoins.

The total number of blockchains on which USDT stablecoins have been issued has reached 15, including etherium and Tron.

The TON network is part of the ecosystem created by the Telegram development team led by Pavel Durov. The latter also spoke at a conference in Dubai and announced the company’s willingness to expand the messenger’s user experience.

The placement of tokens with dollar and gold support on the basis of TON will be one of the most important stages on the way to achieving the set goals, emphasized the developers of the messenger and stablecoin.
