According to PeckShield, since the beginning of this year, the total damage to crypto projects from the activities of cybercriminals amounted to $1.5 billion.
In September, they managed to hack 22 projects and withdraw digital assets totaling $355.91 million, PeckShield’s research said.
Last month turned out to be the most successful for hackers given that they stole a total of $457 million worth of cryptocurrencies in the first half of 2023.
The largest in September was an attack on the Mixin Network project. As a result of its hacking, criminals withdrew digital assets worth $300 million.
