Kevin O’Leary: Venture investors are leaving the Cryptosphere

Popular TV presenter Kevin O’Leary said in 2022 that he keeps up to 5% of his capital in digital currencies.

In his opinion, it is impossible to increase investments in such instruments to a critical level, so as not to lose your investments in case of increased volatility.

Kevin O’Leary said this week that venture capital companies are gradually moving out of the cryptosphere.

The factor accelerating the flight of capital from digital currencies was the collapse of the FTX exchange in November last year. Now the majority of venture investors are focused on financing artificial intelligence, the TV presenter stressed.

He said:

“Venture financing of crypto projects has practically stopped, and regulation and fines have worsened the situation. The venture community has moved on to the next direction – artificial intelligence.

The first alarm signal for venture investors was the May turbulence, and the subsequent wave of bankruptcies of crypto companies such as Genesis, BlockFi and others.”

The tightening of regulatory policy has also negatively affected the attractiveness of bitcoin and other virtual currencies, O’Leary noted.
